MADRID, 5 (EUROPA PRESS)
A member of the Colombian Armed Forces has died and two others have been injured as a result of a double attack perpetrated in the Anorí area, located in the department of Antioquia, in northern Colombia.
In the first of the attacks, an explosive device was activated by a military unit in the La Tirana sector. A noncommissioned officer and a soldier were injured, according to the Army’s Seventh Division, which has confirmed that both victims are progressing favorably.
Subsequently, a second attack took place, as a patrol passed through the urban area of the same municipality. A soldier identified as José Joaquín Álvarez Diaz died as a result of the serious injuries suffered, according to the Caracol Radio station.
The authorities have attributed the double attack to an armed group, the E-36, and military units have traveled to the area to try to find those responsible.
The Army Commander, Eduardo Enrique Zapateiro Altamiranda, on Twitter condemned the “cowardly action” perpetrated in Anorí and expressed his “solidarity” with the victims and their families.
