For at least two decades that the Justice System in Mexico has dragged with failures that, despite the new regulations, affect the rule of law of citizens, as explained by the eminent ambassador of Mexico, Eduardo Ibarrola.
Since then, he said, there was impunity of 96%, a situation that administrations have inherited without being able to solve it. The black figure, which refers to crimes that are not reported, said the member of the ASPEN Mexico Institute, worsens because it prevents those responsible from being punished.
“People violate the law and nothing happens, we have always had this problem. It is one of the most serious aspects that we live and we have been with for a long time. It is the lack of respect for the law, because if we do not respect the rules of the game to live in society, we no longer respect absolutely anything, ”said Ibarrola.
For his part, the academic from the UNAM Law School, Máximo Carbajal Contreras, pointed out that the percentage of crimes that are not reported is around 92%While of those who do report it, which is around two million a year, only 160 thousand go to court.
The specialists agreed that crime must be prevented, but not only through public safety, but from childhood, to promote a culture of legality and compliance with the rules.
