The first two seasonal flu cases of the season winter 2021-2022 They were reported in Jalisco, the state Health Secretariat (SSJ) reported today.
The infections, in young women, were registered in epidemiological week 48, the SSJ detailed in a statement.
He added that both correspond to influenza A-H3 and they are not serious.
“The first patient, 31 years old, is a neighbor of the municipality of Tlajomulco de Zúñiga and does not have a history of influenza vaccine. She does not refer to any comorbidity and her treatment was outpatient,” he explained.
“The second patient is 25 years old; a resident of the municipality of Tonalá and does not have a history of vaccination either; she suffers from obesity as a basic disease. Her treatment was outpatient.”
The SSJ indicated that it followed up on the patients’ contacts, without reporting any other infections so far.

Authorities call the vulnerable groups to get vaccinated against influenza in the health centers of the State. Older adults, girls and boys from 6 months to 5 years, pregnant women, health personnel and people with chronic diseases are a priority.
The influenza vaccine is applied in the Health sector units in the state.
