The oriental luxury brand finally arrives in our country and It will be from December 2021 that it initially offers the LS and ES models, while in the first quarter of 2022 the LX and NX will come, and later in the second half will come the UX, IS and the RX.
Lexus’ goal is to sell up to 3,000 cars a year and to attract customers it will offer a four-year or 80,000-kilometer warranty (whichever comes first) and the first three maintenance services will be given away. Among other things, you will also have coverage for auto parts theft and roadside assistance for four years. The agencies will be in CDMX (3), one in Guadalajara and one in Monterrey. For now, the exact prices and versions of each model are not known, but for example the LS sedan stands as the flagship of the oriental brand with a 3.5-liter V6 hybrid engine and 354 HP.
The ES sedan borrows the Toyota Avalon platform and will feature a 302 HP V6 engine. The LX SUV also carries a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 with 409 HP. Another SUV is the NX that mounts a 203 HP 2.5-liter naturally aspirated engine and another 2.4-liter 275 HP turbo option, as well as a 239 HP hybrid.
The SUV called UX has a platform similar to the Toyota C-HR and will mount a 2.0-liter Atkinson cycle engine with 184 HP. And finally the IS sedan will be incorporated, which could mount engines that deliver 241 or 260 horsepower. While the SUV for five or seven passengers, RX, remains a mystery, as no details have been revealed.
These motor specifications, like the rest of the equipment, we insist, have not been confirmed for Mexico but it is what it offers in the markets where these products are marketed.
