No Man’s Sky has announced Emergence, a fourth Expedition and Halloween update that focuses on the game’s terrifying sandworms.
Expeditions are No Man’s Sky’s event quests and Emergence is the first to have a full accompanying narrative – in which players are stranded in a barren world and asked to solve the mystery of a cult that appears to be linked to Titan Worms settling on planets in the galaxy.
The expedition also serves as a mini-update, adding a number of features to the game, from better particle effects to sandworms that fly and that you can ride after you’ve tamed them. Also added some grittier effects, from a jetpack trail that fires worms, a “Flesh Launcher”, which fires fireworks consisting of slime, plasma and worms.
Developer Hello Games released a list of the other additions for Emergence, which is out today.
