Before departure by plane, travelers must show a vaccination certificate and also a recent test result that shows that they are not infected with the corona virus. The vaccines must be approved by the World Health Organization WHO. This means that a vaccination with, for example, the AstraZeneca vaccine, which is not used in the US, is valid as a ‘ticket’.
The test must be taken no more than 72 hours before arrival. Travelers must also share who they have had contact with, if requested.
The Americans introduced a strict entry policy at the beginning of the pandemic, which makes it virtually impossible to travel to the country without a US passport or residence permit. They already announced in September that vaccinated people from much of Europe could come back to the US “early November”.
