Have children fallen behind in school due to the lockdowns? Inspectors have investigated this. And luckily it works out. Most primary schools are doing well and children have learned enough, even in corona time.
Good news, but not all schools have done this. Some children found it difficult to follow lessons at home and therefore feel that they are lagging behind. This applies, for example, to children with parents from abroad or who have had little education themselves.
Most children think that they can still make up for it just fine this year. Many teachers also think that everything will be all right now that almost everything is back to normal.

A quarter of the children who are now in group 8 say they are concerned about the school advice. They are afraid that corona will give them different advice. It is not clear whether those concerns are justified.
The research was done by talking to teachers and children about the corona time. The inspectors do not yet have figures from tests. It is therefore difficult to compare whether, for example, worse figures have been achieved this year than in 2019. More research needs to be done.
