Since January 2020 it is mandatory that all companies and individuals have their mailbox and that they keep it activated and updated through their email. Therefore, it is mandatory that each taxpayer has registered in the tax mailbox on the platform of the Tax Administration Service (SAT) at least one email and one mobile phone number.
Remember that it is necessary to have an electronic signature or password to enter the link of the tax mailbox found on the SAT portal.
If you want to update or register it, you must follow the following steps:
Enter the SAT website and log in to the tax mailbox button with the electronic signature or password. By clicking on “settings” the contact form will appear where you must write the email you want to activate, as well as the mobile phone number, and put accept. As soon as it is confirmed that the mail was received, the button will appear to print the acknowledgment of receipt, which is the proof that will be available to demonstrate that the procedure was carried out. Then the SAT will send an email with a link to confirm, and immediately the system will inform that the email has already been left as a means of contact for the tax mailbox. It is always recommended to check for spam in case it takes a long time to reply to confirm. In the case of the telephone number, the SAT will send an SMS message with a code to activate it. You have to enter the mailbox and in the form “means of contact” you have to enter this code. A key sign will appear to confirm the number registered with the SAT to continue with the process and accept, if so, the same system will indicate that it has already been established as a means of contact in the tax mailbox. Remember that you have 72 hours as the time limit to complete this process, because if you do not complete it, it will expire and you have to restart. It can be updated or modified and even deleted whenever you want.
