Too many students, not enough supervisors, this is what the teachers of the Staps branch of the University of Rennes II denounce. Since Monday, September 13, the start date for the 2,800 students in this sports field, they refuse to carry out their administrative tasks, a kind of zealous strike to protest against the lack of resources. “These deplorable training conditions have an effect on the value of diplomas, the quality of training, deplores François Le Yondre, lecturer in sociology. It is also to be responsible to warn once again about this political abandonment. of which students are subject. ”
After having alerted to this situation which they have considered alarming for years, then more particularly last spring, the teachers this time considered that management was becoming untenable. Managing the schedule of hundreds of students, external speakers, postponing notes, all this administrative work takes too long, in their opinion, to the point of sometimes affecting their health. They also ensure that the presidency of the university was warned by occupational medicine, after a large number of reports.
The students have therefore still not made their return to school since the movement is blocking the holding of lessons. However, some of them support this mobilization, despite the stress of wasting class time.
“It was about time. In some TD [Travaux Dirigés], we find ourselves at 60 while in the other facs of com or history they are 20 or 30. “
Ninon Rémond, Staps student
In the third year of the license, Ninon Rémond testifies to the lack of supervisors within the unit: “We sometimes have courses that take place every other week because there are not enough teachers. Our background to go to master, it is not very good … “The presidency of the university says it regrets this lack of means and plans to report these needs to the rectorate, during a meeting scheduled for Tuesday, September 21 with the rectorate de Rennes, organized following a demonstration that brought together 500 people last Monday.
