There are now 359 corona patients in the nursing wards of hospitals, 13 fewer than Friday. There are 192 seriously ill corona patients on the ICs, 2 less than a day earlier. That is the lowest number since early August.
Last 24 hours, 6 new corona patients were brought in on the ICs. It has not happened since July 18 that so few patients have been brought in. 50 people were admitted to the nursing wards.
“The influx of Covid patients decreased last week for both the IC and the clinic. The Covid occupation on the IC has remained more or less stable. The occupancy in the clinic has fallen in recent days. We expect it to remain stable in the coming days with a possible further decline,” the LCPS said in a statement.
Average number of positive corona tests further decreased
Last 24 hours, 2051 new positive corona tests were registered at the RIVM. That is 159 fewer compared to last Saturday. The average level over the past seven days has also fallen further.
In the past seven days, 14,542 new corona cases arrived at the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment, considerably less compared to the previous weeks. On average, this equates to 2,077 new cases per day, the lowest number since July 7.
The number of deaths rose by four in the past 24 hours. That does not mean that all those people have died in the past 24 hours, because it takes a while before the death of a corona patient is registered.
In Rotterdam, 166 positive tests were counted last 24 hours, followed by Amsterdam (120) and The Hague (98). In Utrecht and Groningen, 55 and 34 people respectively received a positive test result.
