The controversy aroused by the representative to the House, Gabriel Santos, of the Democratic Center, who has vehemently rebuked his co-party Jennifer Arias, president of the corporation in which they both militate, has not ceased.
Even with ‘Wanted’ posters that carry the photo of the person involved, Santos wants Arias to discuss – and sign – the project that reduces the vacation period of the congressmen. However, it seems that she has been reluctant to the request, which unleashed a wave of harsh comments from the parliamentarian towards her colleague.
The comments of Gabriel Santos as “gravedigger” towards the president of the Chamber, caused the reaction of various sectors of public opinion. For its part, the Women’s Commission in the Congress of the Republic expressed solidarity with the political leader and rejected Santos’ comments to Arias.
It is worth remembering that said Commission is made up of 11 representatives (including Jennifer Arias) and 10 senators, from different parties, who seek to propose and defend issues that benefit women.

This corporation issued an impetuous statement in which they not only exhorted Gabriel Santos not to “disrespect” the leader of the Chamber, but also defended her freedom of expression and points of view. “No woman deserves to be victimized from any point of view, that is why we invite those who wish to express their differences so that, in a respectful way and using legal channels, they process and settle their conflicts”, they argued.
In the same way, they say that the name of Jennifer Arias should not be “mistreated” since the president of the representatives has supposedly stood out for her work in favor of women and that is why they invite Santos to “To process their claims with decorum and to remove from their social networks and / or public places, those messages that mistreat the good name of a representative of Colombian women”, expressed by the members of the Women’s Commission.
THE URIBISMO NEITHER WERE SILENT
This Tuesday, September 14, former president Álvaro Uribe, the authentic leader of the Democratic Center, published one of his peculiar trills where he ‘scolded’ Congressman Santos, who not only belongs to his party, but is the son of Francisco ‘Pacho’ Santos, one of the of his former presidents when he governed Colombia.
“I have been respectful with the members of the Democratic Center, I have never been a friend of censoring the word, however, I must censor the disrespect of Jennifer Arias, president of the House of Representative”, said the ex-president, who was seconded on the morning of this Wednesday, September 15 by the board of directors of the community, who also issued a harsh press release where they “categorically rejected the mistreatment to which our president of the Chamber Jennifer Arias has been subjected. ”.
In the same way, they praised her, justified her and threw several taunts at Gabriel Santos and other alleged opponents of the parliamentarian, who since her arrival at the board of directors of that chamber has given something to talk about.
The party assured that they will not accept “the bullying of some representatives to the Chamber, ULT teams, the media and citizens on social networks” who have undertaken it against the legislator in question, using, supposedly:
“The lowest qualifications to attack a regional woman who today holds the highest dignity in the House of Representatives. (…) We call for reflection, respect and understanding to achieve a good performance in the legislative branch, ”argued the community.
The pronouncement was thanked by Arias herself, who shared it on her Twitter profile. In addition, the spokesman for the Democratic Center, Juan David Vélez, also published it and, through a trill on that social network, made “a call for reflection and respect” and expressed his “support” for the president of the Chamber.
