The National Organizing Commission for the Election to the national presidency of the PAN CEN, announced that the only candidate who reached the signatures is the current national leader with a license, Marko Cortés.
According to the announcement through his social networks, Marko Cortés appeared at the party headquarters to make his re-election official and continue as party leader. He reported that he had the support of 110,000 PAN members who signed in favor of his project.
Having collected this number of signatures, Cortés positioned himself as the only candidate for the candidacy for the leadership of the PAN, however, there are accusations against him regarding irregularities in obtaining the signatures.
Adriana Dávila, a former PAN deputy, and Gerardo Prieto Tapia, an economist from Tabasco, also ran for the presidency of the PAN. However, they did not manage to gather the 27,000 signatures necessary to be able to register as candidates. Still last Monday night, both politicians met in a rapprochement to try that one of the two declined in favor of the other and thus there would be another candidate for the leadership besides Marko Cortés, but their project did not prosper.

“We made every last effort,” said Dávila Fernández, who gave the National Organizing Commission for the Election of the National Executive Committee (CONECEN) of PAN 19,600 signatures of PAN militants, against the 110 thousand registered by Marko Cortés.
For his part, Prieto Tapia did not appear before the Commission but also accused irregularities through a video on his social networks.
Both presented challenges for the series of irregularities that, according to them, they detected during the contest and the collection of signatures.
They also said that it has been a simulation to benefit a single candidate with all the economic and human resources that the PAN has at the national level with the signatures. They also accused that there is a manipulation of the list of militants in favor of Cortés Mendoza, in addition to alleged threats against officials regarding taking away their jobs for not supporting the PAN leadership.
Adriana Dávila also accused “It is not democracy or to have an internal electoral referee who instead of guaranteeing a fair process, a level floor, for those of us who aspire to lead the party, has preferred to stay in the comfort of the inertia that has invaded the party . An Electoral Commission that is not up to the job and has only lent itself to fulfill the “commission” of the simulation. This CONECEN has allowed, has allowed to pass and the most serious thing, has been silent in the face of all kinds of abuses and electoral crimes. His complicit silence is also the result of the match we have today ”.

The governors of Yucatán, Mauricio Vila; Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue; Tamaulipas, Francisco Javier García Cabeza de Vaca; Durango, José Rosas Aispuro; Chihuahua, Maru Campos, endorsed Cortés’s record with their signature.
The governor of Querétaro, Mauricio Kuri, and the outgoing president of Baja California Sur, Carlos Mendoza Davis backed Cortés. Others who joined were former President Vicente Fox, senators, federal and local deputies, elected municipal presidents, leaders such as Gustavo de Hoyos and party members.
Finally, Dávila pointed out that “he is not looking for a job” so he would not accept positions that are offered to him. On the contrary, he said that he has two options: continue with the democratic simulation as in past occasions or present a front with those who gave him their signature.
