Massive entry of immigrants in an irregular manner in Spain. At least 238 migrants of sub-Saharan origin have jumped the border fence of the autonomous city of Melilla, in North Africa. More than 300 have tried, in one of the biggest forays in recent years.
Three policemen have been slightly injured, as well as several immigrants, who arrived at the Center for Temporary Stay for Immigrants (CETI) in Melilla running and screaming “asylum”, between displays of jubilation. There they remain in quarantine, following the sanitary protocol.
This massive jump over the Melilla fence comes two months after the unprecedented wave of migration that the Spanish autonomous city of Ceuta faced, which sparked a diplomatic crisis between Madrid and Rabat.
